Department of Management Studies is offered an extension of the institution’s pioneering leadership in professional education. Department of MBA inducted in the year 2021. The MBA (2 Years), MBA IEV (2 Years) and Integrated MBA (5 Years) programme at the Excel Engineering College aims at transforming the individuals into competent Management Professionals who can optimize the progress of regional, national and international companies. The programme is aimed at escalating the potential of the student and molding them for success in the challenging global business Scenario. Well-designed academics combined with live projects, corporate interaction, affiliations to professional societies, industry aligned value added courses A thoughtful bouquet of pedagogy consists of classroom lectures, industry visits, professional guest lectures, live projects, soft skill sessions and many co-curricular activities such as simulation games, workshops, presentations, discussions, debates, quizzes, etc. provides the fine edge to the aspirants to build a conquering career. The MBA (2 years), MBA IEV (2 Years) and Integrated MBA (5 years) programs are offered full time with dual specialization system. It will suit the aspirants who want to develop managerial skills and acquire broad based industry knowledge with the duel specializations based on their interest.

Programme Outcomes (POs)
PO1: Management graduates to be able to acquire In-depth knowledge of business, management and in functional areas with a global perspective and with a unique ability of synthesizing existing knowledge with the new one, thereby contributing towards enhancing the total quality of knowledge in the area of business and management.
PO2: Management graduates to Conceptualize and Critically analyze the complex business and management problems by applying independent judgments within the wider theoretical and practical frameworks.
PO3: Management graduates should be able to think Out of the box. They have to develop a unique way of seeing at the things by applying independent judgments in order to create outstanding solutions for the business and management problems.
PO4: Management graduate should develop a Research bent of mind. They have to search for facts and truths by developing methodologies with analytical tools which are contemporary and which supports critical analysis of complex data and decision making.
PO5: Management graduates to possess Multidisciplinary knowledge and develop collaborative skills to explore the possibility of Multidisciplinary leverage. To demonstrate self management and sound team work in order to strive for common goals and group success.

Program Design
Academic excellence, free and conducive environment for all round development, an active placement cell, state-of-art laboratories, infrastructure and student amenities, well qualified and dedicated faculty are some of the reasons that make the brightest of young minds and their parents to Faculty of Management Studies.The philosophic underpinnings stated above are planned to be achieved through a range of pedagogic inputs and learning themes built into the program design. These include: Equal importance of complementarities between learning in the class room process and other non traditional teaching tools like Group Discussions – Debate – Presentations – Role Play etc.
Another important way of learning at FoMs is through the interaction with eminent guest speakers.In addition to the full time faculty, guest lecturers with special expertise in various aspects of conservation and allied professions are invited throughout the academic year to augment the instructional program. Non Classroom Learning
“Learning experience for budding managers can and should never be restricted to academic classroom learning but rather focus on all round development of students. Every year students join at EEC DOMS from all parts of the country, hence bringing in values and interests from several different cultures. Enrolling in the following club of their own choice and organizing interesting activities throughout the year provides them an opportunity to know their peers better, learn to work in a team, under time and budget constraints.
Professional Development Club
DOMS owes its association called “BIZ-DEFT” , it helps to prepare students for imminent corporate challenges through motivational & personality grooming sessions, and industry-orientation workshops.
CSR Club
DOMS lays great emphasis on inclusive and sustainable growth of people and communities. It advocates social responsibility alongside corporate activities and undertakes several initiatives for the benefit of the larger society in and around.One of the goals of DOMS is to produce women and men for others; help shape future business leaders who are sensitive to the needs of the disadvantaged and the marginalized. These values cannot be taught in classrooms; social responsibility initiatives by DOMS are implemented in underserved rural and urban areas and amongst less privileged sections of our society. The management cradle invests in the future of small communities and surrounding villages.
Entrepreneurship Club
The Entrepreneurship Club is a learning-by-doing environment where students can cultivate their entrepreneurship skills. Students in the club will participate in the development of a business, at minimum by learning from attending meetings, but ideally developing a start-up. The club is also a place where people in the community can incubate a business idea, providing students with learning opportunities as the students help to develop the idea through the club.
Marketing Club
We aim to offer students an all-round experience of marketing through industry interactions and on-campus activities. These activities aim to offer the budding marketers of DOMS with all-round development opportunity. Among the numerous initiatives are like various case study competitions, guest interactions, quizzes and some fun events. All of these events are carefully designed to ignite the brilliant mind of students and to offer them a visible platform where they can unleash their creativity and clever wits to keep the student community abreast with the latest happenings around the marketing world.
Business Analytics Club
Business Analytics Club is aimed at working in the field of Data & Analytics and its importance and need in Marketing, Finance, HR and Operations. The main operations of club includes organizing quizzes, workshops and seminars on various topics related to business analytics.
Stock – War Club
The members of the club were introduced to one another. The introductory session was very helpful for budding aspirants who want to pursue a career in the finance stream. Following were the highlights of the activity:
- How an individual investor expects stocks to rise.
- Importance of reviewing historical trends of a particular company wherein investments are to be made.
- Benefits of up & down trends of the market.
- Market cycles that include 4 phases of market growth & decline driven by business & economic conditions.
- Overall, it was a very interactive & engaging session.
IIC – Industry Interaction Club
The main priority of IIC is to ensure that practice meets theory across all functional areas. Students have many opportunities for engagement with industry leaders throughout the year. Namakkal and Erode is a hub to a multitude of small and mid-sized companies, entrepreneurial ventures and dynamic. These interactions are not limited to internships and case discussions. The students organize and moderate summits and panels that bring together experts, thinkers and practitioners from India. Students also benefit from intensive mentoring by committed and enthusiastic industry professionals.
International Partnerships
DOMS vision for Internationalization is to raise globally knowledgeable students, generates internationally recognized research and creative activities that address significant global issues, and fosters engagements that connect us with the world. In pursuing this vision, we will
- Articulate the commitment to Internationalization and sensitize the stakeholders about its significance and develop a clear road map for implementation
- Create appropriate administrative and reporting structures form an essential framework for implementing internationalization
- Develop internationalized curriculum and co-curriculum that ensures all students are exposed to international perspectives and build global competence
- Establish Institutional policies and support mechanisms for faculty to have opportunities to develop international competence and are able to maximize the impact of these experiences on student learning.
