The Department of Civil Engineering, Excel Engineering College – Autonomous, successfully organized a “National Level Technical Workshop on “3D Printing in Practice – Design, Print & Innovate” on 25 September 2026 at the AICTE IDEA Lab. The workshop was organized to provide students with practical exposure to 3D printing technology, digital design, additive manufacturing processes, and emerging multidisciplinary applications. A major highlight of the workshop was the discussion on the diverse applications of 3D printing across engineering disciplines. The resource session showcased its potential in civil, mechanical, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, electronics, and other emerging fields.

The session further emphasized innovation, research opportunities, and career prospects in additive manufacturing, encouraging students to explore 3D printing as a powerful tool for developing creative and practical engineering solutions.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from 74 students, including 72 external participants and 2 internal participants representing 9 engineering institutions from *Tamil Nadu and Andra Pradhesh.
