An effective medium of nurturing instructional communications, the library of Excel Engineering College has its vision as to satisfy the user community and has been rendering a beneficial role to all the students and  staff of this college. It is a user friendly library which is well equipped with a good collection of    55269 volumes,  21361 titles and 180 Indian periodicals. International Journals 270 The library is functioning from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on all working days, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on holidays.   Opening access system is adopted to enable the users to avail the maximum utilization of the library. Our library has collections of  1004 CDs’ under various titles.  We are member of DELNET. Digital library function to use for students and staff. A number of books are available in both the reference and issue section

The library has been fully computerized with bar-coding provisions and the transactions are also automated. Library software used is AUTOLIB.

Objectives

The Primary objective of the library is to serve to the needs of our Faculty, students and members of the library. It acts as a center for study and research of the college giving way to integral department of users. Being the Library attracts outside users on deposit and non-deposit basis for academic and professional purpose.

The library aims at being a Resource Centre, a social institution a force for educational excellence by providing and Non-book materials, to promote good values, genuine human relationships, social consciousness, leadership capacities, and academic excellence in research and in teaching

Holdings

Excel Engineering Library has 55269 Volumes and 180Journals and 15 magazines. All the books are mostly classified to Dewey Decimal Classification. Bay guides are available to access the books easily and all the books are arranged properly with bar coding facility. The open access system is followed to make the process of locating books very easy to the users. The Library is fully automated and OPAC facility is provided

Library Rules and Regulations

  1. Our College LIBRARY will be kept open from 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. on all working days.
  2. Strict silence, decorum and cleanliness should be maintained in the LIBRARY.
  3. Readers are required to deposit their personal belongings at the property counter in the entrance of the LIBRARY.
  4. Membership Identity Cards are not transferable and ID holders would be responsible for the books issued against the ID.
  5.  Issue of books to the students for 10 days and faculty members for one month renewal of books will be allowed once only.
  6. The fine will be charged for Student overdue books at  Rs. 5 on the first day and after   Rs. 1/ per day will be charged.
  7. Teaching staff can borrow 5 books at a time for a period of One month.
  8. Underlining, scribing and tearing of pages or any other type of damage of books and journals is strictly prohibited.
  9. For loss of a book, the book should be replaced, if a copy is not available double the cost of the book will be recovered from the borrowers.
  10.  Readers are requested to replace the books and journals after use on the respective place.
  11. Readers are using mobile phones is strictly prohibited.
  12. Reference books, Periodicals, Projects, and Back Volumes will not be lent out.
  13. The LIBRARIAN  has all rights to recall the issued books if required
