Plastic Free Day

The “Plastic Free Day” event was a significant step towards fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within the college and the larger community. The ECO Club and the Department of Computer Applications plan to continue organizing such initiatives to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Prayer Song:
The event commenced with the Tamil Thaaivazhthu, setting a solemn and respectful tone.

Lighting the Lamp:
A traditional lamp-lighting ceremony was conducted to symbolize the dispelling of ignorance and the spreading of knowledge.

Welcome Address:
Ms. A. Arivuselvi, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications and ECO Club Coordinator, welcomed the gathering. She highlighted the importance of reducing plastic usage and the role of educational institutions in fostering environmental responsibility.

Presidential Address:
Dr. R. Vimal Nishant, Principal of Excel College for Commerce and Science, delivered the presidential address. He emphasized the college’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the significance of collective efforts in achieving a plastic-free environment.

Felicitation Address:
Dr. K. Bommanna Raja, Executive Director of Excel Group Institutions, provided the felicitation address. He applauded the initiative and urged students and staff to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.

Vote of Thanks:
Mrs. M. Baby, Assistant Professor of English, delivered the vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their support and contribution to the success of the event.
