Eligibility For Admission

Periyar University Undergraduate Programmes

Eligibility for UG Programmes

or any examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the Periyar University
2.B.A. English
A Pass in the Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Board or some other Board accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent thereto.
3.BBA
A pass in +2 examinations conducted by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu or any examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the Periyar University
4.BCAA candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination with Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Computer Science or Statistics (Academic stream or Vocational stream) as one of the subject under Higher Secondary Board of Examination, Tamilnadu as per norms set by the Government of Tamilnadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereto
5.B.Com.Candidate for admission to the first year of the UG degree programme shall be required to have passed the higher secondary examination (Academic or Vocational) conducted by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu in the relevant subjects or other examinations accepted as equivalent thereto.
6.B.Com. AFAny one of the subjects must be studied at the +2 level Accountancy/ Commerce/ Mathematics/ Business Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science.
7.B.Com. CAAny one of the subjects must be studied at the +2 level Accountancy/ Commerce/ Mathematics/ Business Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science.
8.B.Com Professional AccountingHigher Secondary pass with Commerce & Accountancy Or Higher Secondary with Commerce / Accountancy / Mathematics / Business Mathematics /Statistics / Computer Science / Corporate Secretaryship / Information Technology / Computer Applications/ Computer Technology as one of the subjects.(Those who have not studied Commerce or/and Accountancy should undergo a bridge course for a minimum duration of 15 days in that subjects).
9.B.Sc CS- Artificial Intelligence and Data ScienceHigher Secondary pass with Mathematics as one of the Subject. Or Higher Secondary pass with Computer Science / Computer Applications / Information Technology / Computer Technology / Business Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the courses and have not studied Mathematics should undergo a bridge course on Mathematics for a minimum duration of 15 days.
10.B.Sc. BiochemistryA pass in +2 with Chemistry as compulsory subject and studied Botany and Zoology or Biology in the +2 exam.
11.B.Sc Clinical Laboratory TechnologyA candidate who has passed Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Board or an equivalent Examination under other state board is accepted. A pass in +2 passed with Chemistry as compulsory subject and studied Botany and Zoology or Biology shall be eligible for admission for B.Sc., Clinical Laboratory Technology degree examination of this University after a course of study of three academic years.
12.B.Sc Costume Design and FashionCandidates seeking admission to the first year degree of Bachelor of Science in Costume Design and Fashion / B.Sc. Fashion Technology / B.Sc. Textiles & Fashion Designing shall be required to have passed in any Higher Secondary Course examination (Regular academic or Vocational) of the state board/CBSE/ICSE or other examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the syndicate, subject to such other conditions as may be prescribed. Pass in any three year Diploma in Fashion/Costume/Textile/Apparel related course is eligible to admit in direct second year of this UG course.
13.B.Sc. Computer ScienceCandidates who have passed in Higher Secondary Examination with Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Computer Science or Statistics (Academic stream or Vocational stream) as one of the subject under Higher Secondary Board of Examination, Tamilnadu, as per norms set by the Government of Tamilnadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereto
14.B.Sc CS-  Cyber SecurityHigher Secondary pass with Mathematics as one of the Subject. Or Higher Secondary pass with Computer Science / Computer Applications / Information Technology / Computer Technology / Business Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the courses and have not studied Mathematics should undergo a bridge course on Mathematics for a minimum duration of 15 days.
15.B.Sc Data ScienceHigher Secondary pass with Mathematics as one of the Subject. Or Higher Secondary pass with Computer Science / Computer Applications / Information Technology / Computer Technology / Business Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the courses and have not studied Mathematics should undergo a bridge course on Mathematics for a minimum duration of 15 days.
16.B.Sc Information TechnologyHigher Secondary pass with Mathematics as one of the Subject. Or Higher Secondary pass with Computer Science / Computer Applications / Information Technology / Computer Technology / Business Mathematics/ Statistics as one of the courses and have not studied Mathematics should undergo a bridge course on Mathematics for a minimum duration of 15 days.
17.B.Sc. MathematicsCandidates seeking admission to first year of the Bachelor of Science – Physics shall be required to have passed the Higher secondary examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Electronics as one of the paper in vocational stream conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto.
18.B.Sc.  MicrobiologyA candidate who has passed Higher Secondary Examination in any one of the biological sciences (Botany/Zoology, Biology).(Academic/Vocational stream-Agri, Home Science, Poultry) under higher secondary board of examination, Tamil Nadu, or as per norms set by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate subject to such conditions as may be prescribed thereto are permitted to appear and qualify for the B.Sc. Microbiology Degree Examination of this University after a course of study of three academic years.
19.B.Sc. PhysicsCandidates seeking admission to the First Year of Bachelor of Science – Physics shall be required to have passed the Higher secondary examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Electronics as one of the paper in vocational stream  conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto
20.B.Sc. Textile and Fashion DesigningA Pass in +2 Exam
21.B.Sc. Visual CommunicationA Pass in Higher Secondary Examination or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the syndicate (10+2 or 10+3 year Diploma), subject to such conditions as may be prescribed thereto are permitted to appear and qualify for the Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication degree examination of this university after a course of study of three academic years.

3.M.Sc. Computer ScienceA candidate who has passed in B.Sc. Computer Science / B.C.A / B.Sc. Computer Technology / B.Sc. Information Science / B.Sc. Information Technology degree of this University or any of the degree of any other University accepted by the syndicate as equivalent thereto subject to such conditions as may be prescribed therefore shall be permitted to appear and qualify for the M.Sc. Computer Science degree examination of this University after a course of study of two academic years.
4.M.Sc MicrobiologyCandidate who has passed the B.Sc. degree in any Life Sciences[ Microbiology / Applied Microbiology/Industrial Microbiology/Botany/Plant Sciences and Plant Biotechnology / Zoology / Animal Science/Applied Animal Science and Animal Biotechnology / Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics/ Biology/Food Science & Nutrition/ Nutrition and Dietetics /B.Sc. Medical Lab Technology / BSMS/BAMS/BUMS/BHMS/Chemistry with Botany/Zoology]as Allied Subjects of this University or an Examination of any other University accepted by the Syndicate as equivalent there to shall be eligible for admission to M.Sc. Degree Course in Applied Microbiology. Candidate shall be admitted to the examination only if he/she has taken the qualifying degree in Science/Medical subjects as mentioned after having completed the prescribed courses consisting of twelve years of study and has passed the qualifying examination.
