Goal

To foster a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, and creativity within Excel College, empowering students, faculty, and staff to become catalysts of positive change in their communities and the world.

IIC Programme Report

Effective Sales and Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs/ Startups

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) andDepartment of Textile and Fashion Designing and Costume Design and Fashion has organized aworkshop on EffectiveSales and Marketing Strategies for Entrepreneurs/ Startupson 10.01.2025 at Velappar Hall A/C. The event commenced with a prayer song. The welcome address delivered by Mrs. S.N. Priyadharshini, AP, TFD and CDFDr.R.Vimal Nishant, Principal/ECCS gave the presidential address. Dr.K.Manjula, Programme Head, School of Arts and Science, felicitated the gathering. Then Visionary address delivered by Dr.T.Shankar, Chief IQAC, and Dr. K.Christie Jennifer, Head/TFD & CDF has delivered Guest introduction. Mr. BALAKUMAR SELVARAJ, Research and Technical Director of Fiber Chem polymers Private Limited. He encouraged young students to become entrepreneurs/ Startups. The vote of thanks was given by Mrs. D. Padmalatha, AP, TFD & CDF and IIC Member. The programme ended successfully with the National Anthem.

Workshop on Digital Thinking, Critical Thinking & Innovation Design Organized by the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Excel College for Commerce and Science, Komarapalayam, under the aegis of IQAC

The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Excel College for Commerce and Science, Komarapalayam, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully conducted a transformative workshop titled Digital Thinking, Critical Thinking & Innovation Design on 3rd February 2025. The event aimed to equip participants with modern problem-solving skills, foster critical thinking, and inspire innovative approaches to real-world challenges.

The workshop commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. P. Dhineshkumar, Assistant Professor of Computer Science & IIC President, who emphasized the importance of digital and critical thinking in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape.                   Ms. A. Arivuselvi, Assistant Professor of Computer Applications and IIC Coordinator, outlined the agenda and objectives of the workshop, setting the tone for an engaging and insightful session.

The highlight of the event was the keynote address by the Chief Guest, Jc. Mrs. Sofiya Harun, Founder of Maryam Fashions, Tiruchengode. Drawing from her entrepreneurial journey, she shared valuable insights on integrating innovation and design thinking into business strategies. Her speech resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring them to think creatively and embrace digital transformation.

The workshop featured interactive sessions, hands-on activities, and group discussions, enabling participants to apply digital and critical thinking frameworks to solve complex problems. The event also showcased innovative projects by students, fostering a spirit of collaboration and creativity.

Under the guidance of Dr. R. Vimal Nishant, Principal and Chief Patron, and  Dr. T. Shankar, Chief IQAC Coordinator and Patron, the workshop successfully achieved its goal of empowering minds with cutting-edge strategies for innovation and problem-solving.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the organizing team, acknowledging the efforts of all participants, faculty, and guests. The workshop left a lasting impact, encouraging attendees to embrace innovation and critical thinking in their academic and professional pursuits.

The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Excel College for Commerce and Science, Komarapalayam, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and A&F, successfully hosted an enlightening Expert Talk on Process of Innovation Development, Technology Readiness Level [TRL], Commercialization of Lab Technologies & Tech-Transfer on 4th February 2025. The event aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of innovation processes, technology commercialization, and the role of TRL in bridging the gap between research and industry.

The session began with a welcome address by Mr. P. Dhineshkumar, Assistant Professor of Computer Science & IIC President, who highlighted the importance of innovation and technology transfer in today’s competitive world. Dr. P. Boopathimaharaja and Ms. K. Deepthi, IIC Coordinators and Assistant Professors of Commerce, outlined the objectives of the talk, emphasizing its relevance to students and faculty alike.

The Chief Guest, Dr. R. Ramesh, Associate Professor from the Department of Management Studies, KIOT, Salem, delivered an insightful keynote address. He elaborated on the stages of innovation development, the significance of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) in assessing the maturity of technologies, and the challenges and strategies involved in commercializing lab technologies. His expertise and practical examples provided valuable insights into the process of tech-transfer and its impact on industry and society.

The event also featured an interactive Q&A session, where participants engaged with Dr. Ramesh on topics such as intellectual property rights, funding for innovation, and the role of academia in fostering entrepreneurial ecosystems. The organizing team, led by Mr. K. Ramesh, Assistant Professor and Department Coordinator, ensured the smooth execution of the event.

Under the guidance of Dr. R. Vimal Nishant, Principal and Chief Patron, and Dr. T. Shankar, Chief IQAC Coordinator and Patron, the Expert Talk successfully achieved its goal of inspiring innovation and fostering a deeper understanding of technology commercialization. Dr. S. Subramaniam, Programme Head of the School of Commerce, also played a pivotal role in organizing the event.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing team, participants, and the esteemed guest speaker. The event left a lasting impression, encouraging attendees to explore innovative ideas and contribute to the commercialization of research.
