About AISHE

The All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) is an annual survey conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to collect comprehensive data on higher education institutions across the country. It was initiated in 2010-11 to assess the growth and development of the higher education sector in India.

Key Parameters Covered in AISHE:

1. Institutional Data – Number and type of universities, colleges, and standalone institutions.
2. Student Enrollment – Gender, category-wise (SC/ST/OBC/General), and stream-wise distribution.
3. Faculty & Staff – Number of teachers, gender ratio, qualifications, and faculty-student ratio.
4. Programs Offered – UG, PG, PhD, diploma courses across various disciplines.
5. Research & Innovation – Number of PhD enrollments, patents filed, and research projects.
6. Infrastructure & Facilities – Libraries, hostels, ICT usage, and student support services.
7. Financial Aspects – Institution funding, scholarships, and research grants.
