About the EDC
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of Excel College for Commerce and Science is committed to nurturing innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurial thinking among students. The Cell provides structured guidance, training, mentorship, and opportunities to explore business ideas and transform them into viable ventures.
The EDC functions in alignment with EDII–Tamil Nadu, ensuring students receive exposure to national-level innovation ecosystems.
Vision
To develop a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that inspires students to innovate, ideate, and become successful entrepreneurs who contribute positively to society and industry.
Mission
- To promote entrepreneurial spirit among students through continuous training and industry interaction.
- To empower young innovators with hands-on experience through expos, workshops, skill-based programmes, and startup activities.
- To bridge the gap between academia and industry through structured incubation and mentoring support.

Excel Foundation Technology Business Incubator (Excel TBI)
The Excel TBI is a dedicated platform established to promote startup culture, support budding entrepreneurs, and create a seamless pathway from ideation to real-world execution.
Key Roles of Excel TBI
- Provides incubation support, mentoring, and business model
- Helps students develop prototypes, market strategies, and investor
- Conducts innovation challenges, product fairs, boot camps, and startup mentorship
- Connects students with industry professionals, founders, and domain
- Acts as a bridge between industry, government, and academia for entrepreneurship
Through initiatives jointly executed with the EDC, Excel TBI ensures that every student with passion and an idea gets access to real opportunities, resources, and exposure.

Excel Trade Expo (Annual Event)
A two-day mega entrepreneurial expo conducted every year, featuring:
- 80–100 student-led business stalls
- Live product demonstrations
- Small-scale startup launches
- Innovation showcases
- Marketing, branding, and sales simulations
- Interaction with industry experts &academics
- Real-time customer engagement experience
The expo enables students to gain confidence, business exposure, and hands-on understanding of entrepreneurship.
