The Department of TFD and CDF organized an industrial visit on 21.12.2024 to BP International Garment Export Pvt. Ltd., Salem, for II and III B.Sc. TFD and CDF students. The visit began with an introductory session highlighting the company’s history, operations, and its role in the garment export industry. Participants explored various sections of the factory, including Production, Quality Control, Packing, and Checking, gaining valuable insights into garment manufacturing processes. Advanced machinery demonstrations showcased the technical aspects of production, providing a practical understanding of industrial operations. An interactive Q&A session with industry professionals allowed students to discuss garment production, career opportunities, and emerging industry trends. This insightful experience emphasized the importance of integrating practical training and industry exposure into the curriculum. The visit was highly educational, offering exposure to manufacturing practices, environmental measures, and safety protocols. Convened by Dr. K. Christie Jennifer, with coordination from Mr. G. Kumaresan, Mrs. D. Padmalatha, Mr. M. Venkat Prasath, and Mrs. K. M. Abarna, the program concluded successfully. The department extends its gratitude to BP International and looks forward to further collaborations to strengthen academia-industry partnerships.
