Department of Biochemistry & CLT, Excel College for Commerce and Science organized Independence Day Celebration on the Theme ” Echoes of Freedom: Honoring Our Heroes”

The program was actively organized by Ms.T.Suvetha ,AP, BCH & CLT. The event began with a welcome address by Ms.K.Vaishnavi , AP, BCH & CLT. This was followed by the presidential address by Dr.K.Manjula , Programme Head, SOAS

The Chief Guest Dr. S.Subramanian, Programme Head, School of Commerce delivered a powerful Independence Day message. He emphasized that true freedom comes with a deep sense of responsibility. motivated everyone to contribute actively to the development of a self-reliant and modern India.”
A Vibrant Display of Tri-colour Unity on Campus
In a wonderful show of solidarity and national pride, both students and staff members arrived dressed in traditional outfits that mirrored the colours of the national flag. The
sea of saffron, white, and green created a deeply unified atmosphere. It served as a powerful visual reminder of our shared identity and respect for the nation, setting a perfect tone for the rest of the celebration.
Young Voices Pay Stirring Tributes to National Heroes
Students Bring History Alive with Passionate Speeches on Freedom Fighters including Mahatma Gandhi Pandithai Asalambikai ammaiyar, Jawharlal Nehru, Karmaveerar Kamarajar, Rani lakshmi bhai, Subash chanthira bhos, V. O. Chithambaranar, Tirupur Kumaran etc
* Cultural Performances
– Patriotic songs including Vande Mataram, Ae Watan, and Maa Tujhe Salaam were performed
– A group dance by Biochemistry and CLT students depicted India’s journey from colonial rule to freedom
– The open-air venue created an energetic atmosphere, ending with a joint rendition by students and staff
* Quiz: “Know Your Freedom Struggle”
An interactive quiz covered topics like the history of Independence Day, contributions of national leaders, national symbols, key dates, and slogans of the freedom movement.
Conclusion
The celebration was a sincere tribute to India’s freedom fighters. Through speeches, cultural events, and the quiz, students were reminded of the importance of liberty, unity, and patriotism.
Outcome of the Programme
The event successfully brought together students, faculty, and guests in a beautiful display of national unity. It achieved its core objective of reviving the spirit of patriotism and reminding the campus community of their responsibilities toward building a stronger, more harmonious nation.”
