The Department of Microbiology organized a seminar titled “Exploring Intellectual Property in the Microbial World” in conjunction with the inauguration of the Excel Microgala Club on 25^th July 2025, at the Microbiology Lab, A2 Block. The event began with an invocation through a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Ms.M.Ramla Asmi, Head In-Charge, Department of Microbiology. Dr.R.Vimal Nishanth, Principal, delivered the presidential address. The visionary address was delivered by Dr.T.Shankar, Chief IQAC Coordinator. Dr.K.Manjula, Programme Head, School of Arts and Science, delivered the felicitation address, encouraging students to take initiative in research and entrepreneurship.

Mr.S.Sabarish, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, introduced the Chief Guest, Dr.E.S.Karthy, Founder and Director of Awe-Care Pvt. Ltd. The guest was honoured with a shawl and memento as a token of appreciation. After that, the Excel Microgala Club was officially inaugurated, and the Ministry Members were announced. The ministry members took a pledge to fulfill their duties with dedication and integrity. After that, Dr.E.S.Karthy delivered an insightful seminar on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), with a special focus on the microbial world. He elaborated about IPR principles application in microbiology and biotechnological innovations and emphasized the legal frameworks, patenting processes, and commercialization strategies in microbiology. The session brought together students, faculty, and industry experts, encouraging interdisciplinary discussion and awareness on the protection of microbial inventions. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms.T.Suvetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology, after which the event came to a close with the National Anthem.
