State-Level Cultural Festival Organized by Excel College for Commerce and Science

Excel College for Commerce and Science hosted a grand two-day State-Level Cultural Festival on January 3rd and 4th, 2025, exclusively for government and government-aided school students studying in grades 11 and 12. The first day of the festival focused on events for government school students. The inauguration ceremony began with a welcome address delivered by the District Educational Officer, Mrs. V. Karpagam. Following this, the Vice Chairman of Excel Educational Institutions, Dr. N. Mathan Karthick, delivered the presidential address. The Chairman of Excel Educational Institutions, Dr. A.K. Natesan, offered a special address to the gathering.

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Mr. D. Vijay Kannan, Chairman of Komarapalayam Municipality; Mr. Venkatesan, Vice Chairman of the municipality; Mr. Nachimuthu, a representative of Pallipalayam Municipality; Dr. K. Bommanaraja, Principal and Executive Director of Excel Engineering College; Mr. R. Selvam, Union Representative of Pallipalayam Central Union; and Mr. A. Elangovan, Union Representative of Pallipalayam South Union, who shared their congratulatory messages.

A total of 38 teams, each representing their respective districts, participated in the festival after being selected as the best cultural teams from their districts. The students showcased traditional Tamil arts and cultural practices, including clay modelling, papier-mâché crafts, carving, pot painting, sand art, literary drama, solo acting, street theatre, multivoice speeches, mimicry, puppet shows, and folk dramas. These events highlighted Tamil Nadu’s cultural heritage, artistic skills, and historical themes. The first day’s events concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Periyasamy.

The second day of the festival featured competitions for students from government-aided schools. The day began with a welcome address by Mrs. V. Karpagam, the District Educational Officer. Dr. N.Sengottaiyan, the Technical Director of Excel Educational Institutions, delivered the presidential address. The Senior District Educational Officer, Mr. Pachamuthu, gave a special congratulatory address. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the event coordinator, Mr. Raja.

The two-days festival was expertly organized under the leadership of Dr. R. Vimal Nishant, Principal of Excel College for Commerce and Science, and with the active support of department heads, faculty members, and the educational coordinators from Namakkal district. Their efforts ensured the success of this vibrant celebration of culture and talent.
