The Department of Textile and Fashion Designing (TFD) and Costume Design and Fashion (CDF) at Excel College for Commerce and Science organized a Skill Development Programme titled “Mastering Leadership: Essential Skills for Future Leaders” on August 27, 2024, at Velappar Hall. The event, attended by 133 students, began with a prayer song and ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Mrs. S. N. Priyadharshini, Assistant Professor of TFD, delivered the welcome address. Dr. R. Vimal Nishant, Principal of Excel College, delivered the Presidential Address, stressing the importance of leadership in academic and professional life. Dr. K. Manjula, Programme Head of the School of Arts and Science, emphasized the necessity of leadership skills in today’s competitive world.

Dr. K. Christie Jennifer, Head of the Department (TFD & CDF), introduced the chief guest, Dr. R. Kathirvel, Professor in the Department of MBA at Excel Engineering College. He led an insightful session on essential leadership skills, offering students practical strategies for effective leadership. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. E. Dinesh, Assistant Professor of Tamil, and the National Anthem, leaving participants inspired and motivated for future leadership roles.
