The College Library was established in 2018. Our library is open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. without a break. A Book Bank has been set up for the utility of students from weaker sections. Bar Code Technology was introduced in 2022. Our library now functions in a fully-fledged manner and caters to the needs of both students and faculty members. Books and journals are easily accessible to students and research scholars alike.

OBJECTIVES

The primary objective of the library is to serve the needs of our faculty, students, and members. It acts as a center for study and research for the college, functioning as an integral department for users. The library also attracts outside users on both deposit and non-deposit bases for academic and professional purposes.

LIBRARY POLICY

The library’s aim is to serve as a Resource Centre and social institution, acting as a force for educational excellence by offering both book and non-book materials to foster good values, genuine human relationships, social consciousness, leadership capacities, and academic excellence in research and teaching.

Working Days – 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Without Break)

Examination days – 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Without Break)

HOLDINGS

The ECCS Library has 15,811 volumes, 69 journals, and 15 magazines. Most of the books are classified using the Dewey Decimal Classification system. Bay guides are available to help users locate the books easily, and all the books are arranged properly with a bar coding facility. The open-access system is followed to make the process of locating books very easy for users. The library is fully automated, and OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) facilities are provided.

The library has a unique feature of maintaining a Centralized Library along with six Departmental Libraries: Tamil, English, Computer Science, Textile and Fashion Designing, Biochemistry & Microbiology, and Management Studies. These libraries are established with the main objective of facilitating the staff and students in the promotion of research and their projects. The total volume of books is as follows:

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Books will be issued only on production of valid user ID card
Books borrowed must be returned on or before the due date
Only two renewals can be done
Books will have to be physically present for renewals
For late return of books, overdue charges will be collected as per rules in force
Users are requested to collect receipts for fine amount paid by them
Users are requested to verify the physical condition of the book/s before borrowing
Users are required to switch off the lights and fans when not required or while leaving the
reading halls
