Gunapadam – plays a vital role in our Siddha system. It is one of the major Departments of Siddha. This subject includes Mooligai, Thathu and Jeeva vaguppu. This subject deals with the detailed study about many herbs and their descriptions, their therapeutic actions, chemical constituents and their authentication.

The department has separate class and laboratory for teaching and research programs. We have a well-equipped museum of raw drugs which enhances the knowledge of Identification. It is equipped with necessary instruments to get knowledge about plant extraction methods and analysis of the chemical constituents. It will help the studentsto widen the scope of their future research works.
