Anti-Drug Awareness Program

Anti-Drug Awareness Program

Objective

To educate students on the harmful effects of drug abuse, cyber-related risks, and legal consequences, while promoting a healthy, disciplined, and value-based campus culture.

Brief Introduction

An Anti-Drug Awareness Program was conducted under NSS and RRC to address substance abuse prevention and student well-being. The programme brought together counselling experts, enforcement awareness themes, and student participation in a structured awareness assembly.

Detailed Report

The awareness programme was held at Palaniappar Hall with a large student congregation. The session included addresses by faculty coordinators and invited speakers focusing on drug abuse prevention, mental health, and responsible digital behaviour. Visual displays, banners, and stage proceedings reinforced key social messages aligned with national awareness campaigns. Students attentively participated and responded to interactive discussions. The event also highlighted institutional support systems available for counselling and guidance. Faculty organizers maintained order, documented attendance, and captured geo-tagged photographs for official records. The programme served as an important extension activity demonstrating the college’s commitment to holistic student development and social responsibility indicators expected in NAAC/NBA frameworks.

“The anti-drug session opened my eyes to peer pressure risks and the importance of making responsible choices.”
