About the Programme

The Doctor of Pharmacy course includes six academic years. The course is designed with a view  to impart competent practices of clinical pharmacy to the students so as to serve the societal needs. First five years is based on the institutional study and sixth year is dedicated to the internship in speaciality departments at Parent Hospital.

Programme Overview

During the course of study, the students are exposed to the core clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care services. During the internship, the students are trained and evaluated for their skill in delivering clinical pharmacy services, pharmaceutical care planning and their knowledge of therapeutics. The one year clinical training enables the student to become competent and individual clinical pharmacists.

Programme Highlights

The programme includes training in skills  such as dispensing of drugs, providing safe medication, patient counselling, improved patient and contribution to quality use of medicines. This course exposes the student to several important legislations related to the profession of pharmacy. It also deals with the formulation and evaluation of various pharmaceutical dosage forms.

Hospital Details

The Institution is attached to 333 bedded Excel Multi speciality Hospital, situated inside the college campus. This facility enables the students to undergo their internship training in various departments of the hospital. Ward round facilities are provided to each student with Clinical Preceptors on daily basis to enable the students practice independently.
