About the Programme
The program extends for two academic years split into four semesters. It also includes internship in speciality departments of hospital, ward round participation and clinical training. Seminars, Assignments, Journal club discussions, Research work presentation and Dissertation.
Programme Overview
This course is designed to impart the basic knowledge and skills that are required to practice pharmacy including the provision of pharmaceutical care services to both healthcare professionals and patients in clinical settings. The programme is framed to interpret the laboratory results to aid the clinical diagnosis of various disorders and understand the different treatment approaches in managing various disease conditions. The aim is to impart knowledge and develop skills on conceptualizing, designing, conducting and managing clinical trials.
Programme Highlights
The programme imparts knowledge and skills in optimizing drug therapy of a patient by individualizing the treatment plan through evidence-based medicines. Enables Ward round participation, drug therapy monitoring including medication order review, chart endorsement, clinical review and pharmacist interventions. Programme also trains the students to know about value added services in community pharmacies and finalize individualized therapeutic plans based on diagnosis.
