The Department of Textile and Fashion Designing & Costume Design and Fashion, Excel College for Commerce and Science organized a vibrant Skill Enhancement Programme on “Recent Trends in Cosmetology” on 24^th July 2025 at Velappar Hall (A/C). The event commenced with a prayer by students followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by dignitaries. Mrs.S.N.Priyadharshini, Assistant Professor, delivered a warm welcome address Dr.R.Vimal Nishant, Principal, Excel College for commerce and Science, gave the presidential address highlighting the growing importance of cosmetology in the fashion industry.

Dr.T.Shankar, Chief IQAC and Dr.K.Manjula, Programme Head, School of Arts and Science shared their felicitations. The dignitaries were honored. Ms. G. Kokilavani, Assistant Professor, introduced the chief guest. Dr.S. Vijay Kannan, Founder and Director of Salem Cosmetic Clinic, delivered the keynote address focusing on modern skincare advancements, cosmetic technologies, and career opportunities in cosmetology which greatly inspired the students. The program was convened by Dr. K. Christie Jennifer, Head, Department of Textile and Fashion Designing & Costume Design and Fashion. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr. G. Kumaresan, Assistant Professor followed by the National Anthem. The session was both insightful and motivational, offering students a broader understanding of beauty science and its significance in the world of fashion.
