Department Of Commerce With Computer Application Career Guidance Programme: Bulding Careers In The Digital Commerce World

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications organized a Career Guidance Programme on “Building Careers in the Digital Commerce World” on 15.07.2025 at Palaniyappar Hall A/C. The program began with the “Tamil Thaai Vazhthu” prayer song, setting a serene and respectful tone for the day. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of darkness and the spreading of knowledge. Dr. C. Gowthaman, Head, Department of Commerce with Computer Applications, extended a warm greeting to the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and attendees. Dr. R. Vimal Nishant, Principal, Excel College for Commerce and Science, spoke about the critical role of educational institutions in preparing students for future technological disruptions. He encouraged students to take part in innovative activities and outlined how such initiatives bridge the gap between theory and practice.

Dr.T.Shankar, Chief IQAC, Presented a memento and shawl as a token of appreciation. Dr.S.Subaramaniyam, Programme Head, School of Commerce, highlighted about academic discipline, career planning, and developing strong communication and problem-solving skills to succeed in the evolving digital economy. Dr.K.Manjula, Programme Head, School of Arts and Science, introduced the Chief Guest with a detailed overview of her professional journey and contributions to the corporate and academic sectors. CS.G.Saranya, Chairperson, Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the esteemed Chief Guest of the session shared an insightful keynote address on the emerging career opportunities in the digital commerce world. She elaborated the roles in compliance, corporate governance, legal tech, fintech startups, and shared guidance on pursuing professional courses like CS, CA, and CMA. She also emphasized preparing for government and competitive exams and building a strong digital profile. Mrs. S .Sathya – Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce with CA, Expressed sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, organizing committee, student volunteers, and participants for making the event a grand success. After which the event came to a close with the National Anthem.
