The Citizen Consumer Club of Excel College for Commerce and Science conducted an awareness program titled “Empowering the Consumer: Know Your Rights and Responsibilities” on 10th January 2025. The program aimed to educate students on consumer rights and inspire them toward research, product development, and entrepreneurship.The event commenced with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address by Dr. Boopathimaharaja. The presidential address by Dr. R. Vimal Nishant, Principal, emphasized the significance of consumer awareness. Dr. S. Subramaniam from the School of Commerce delivered a felicitation address, encouraging active participation in consumer-related initiatives.Guest speaker Mr. R. Subramanian delivered an inspiring talk on consumer empowerment, highlighting research and entrepreneurial opportunities in the field. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. S. Keerthika, Assistant Professor of Commerce, and ended with the national anthem.The program was insightful and successfully motivated students, aligning with the club’s mission to empower consumers and encourage entrepreneurial thinking.
