Excel College for Commerce and Science, in collaboration with the Microbiologists Society, India, celebrated National Science Day with immense fervour on February 28th, 2024! Under the theme “Science for a Sustainable Future,” the event highlighted the crucial role of scientific endeavours in tackling global challenges. The inaugural ceremony, graced by esteemed guests Dr. R. Vimal Nishant, Dr. Arun karthick, and Dr. T. Shankar Thiruvengadam, set a positive tone for the day, emphasizing the significance of scientific inquiry and innovation.

The Expo on “Science for a Sustainable Future” stole the spotlight, showcasing over 40 meticulously crafted projects by our talented Microbiology students. From environmental conservation to healthcare advancements, these projects demonstrated innovative approaches towards sustainability. Our panel of judges, including Dr. K. Christie Jennifer and Mrs. S. Rubarani, actively engaged in assessing the presentations, enriching the evaluation process with their expertise and providing valuable feedback.

Following thorough assessments, prizes were awarded to the best presentations across various categories, inspiring students to strive for scientific excellence. The success of the event was a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated faculty members, led by Dr. P. Udhayaraja Periyasamy, Head of the Department of Microbiology, who provided unwavering support and guidance throughout.
