Report on National Eye Donation Fortnight – 2025
The National Eye Donation Fortnight Program was organized on 25thAugust 2025 in collaboration with Komarapalayam Government Hospital at the Rotary Club Room, Komarapalayam GH. The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Mrs. G. Vinotha, Associate Professor, Excel Nursing College. The event was graced by the presence of the following special invitees: Dr. Ambika (Ophthalmologist), Dr. Bharathi (Medical Officer), Mrs. Menaka, and Mrs. Gowri (Nursing Superintendent).
On this occasion, Dr. Ambika addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of eye donation in restoring sight and improving quality of life. This was followed by a pledge ceremony and health education sessions for patients, mothers, and children. The sessions were effectively presented using flip charts by Mr. Hariharasudhan, II Year, IV Semester B.Sc. Nursing Student. In addition, Excel Nursing College students distributed pamphlets to both inpatients and outpatients to create wider awareness about eye donation. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Madhan Kumar, Nursing Tutor, ENC and the program came to a successful close at 12:00 noon.
