CME Programme on \u201cScientific Approach in Siddha Medicine\u201d Organized by Excel Siddha Medical College & Research Centre \u2013 19th July 2025<\/p>\n

On 19th July 2025, Excel Siddha Medical College & Research Centre successfully organized a CME Programme on the theme \u201cScientific Approach in Siddha Medicine\u201d at the AYUSH Auditorium.<\/p>\n

The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof.Dr.M.Maignanamoorthy,M.D(S), Principal of Excel Siddha Medical College & Research Centre. The CME aimed to provide valuable insight into scientific research practices, publication ethics, and clinical applications within the field of Siddha medicine.<\/p>\n

The programme featured the following expert presentations:<\/p>\n

Dr. Reshma Ayswaria, Ph.D, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Mercy College, Palakkad, Kerala, delivered an insightful session on \u201cGrant Proposal Writing and Key Points of Success\u201d, emphasizing the structure, strategies, and essentials of writing successful research proposals.<\/p>\n

Dr. P. Vanathi, Ph.D, Principal, Bharathidasan College of Arts & Science (Autonomous), Erode, presented on \u201cWriting and Publishing Scientific Articles in Indian System of Medicine\u201d, highlighting the ethical considerations, publishing standards, and techniques for effective academic communication.<\/p>\n

Dr. P.K. Ramesh, M.D(S), Associate Professor, Excel Siddha Medical College & Research Centre, Komarapalayam, shared his clinical expertise through a session on \u201cVarmam for Musculoskeletal System\u201d, focusing on therapeutic applications, mechanism, and Siddha principles involved in Varmam practice.<\/p>\n

The event was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Dr.M.Maignanamoorthy, M.D(S), Principal of the institution. Dr.D.S.Vaniswari, Assistant Professor, Department of Noi Anugaa Vidhi Ozhukkam, delivered an informative presentation on the topic \u201cWorld Population and Its Challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

The seminar highlighted key issues such as rapid population growth, resource management, healthcare access, and sustainable development. Faculty members and final year BSMS students actively participated, fostering meaningful discussion and enhanced awareness on population-related issues.<\/p>\n

A-HMIS \u2013 Ayush Health Management Information System, 5. NCISM \u2013 National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, 6. NIS \u2013 National Institute of Siddha, Chennai, 7. PCIM&H \u2013 Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy, 8. SEARCHi \u2013 Siddha E-Resource and Centre for Heritage Initiative, 9. JAFFNA FSM \u2013 Faculty of Siddha Medicine, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, 10. Global Centre for Siddha (GCS), 11. Tamil Digital Library (TDL), 12. The seminar ended with a reminder that the digital age is not a threat to Siddha medicine it is an opportunity.\u00a0 But to use it wisely, Students must help in bridging the past with the present, and preserving authenticity in a fast-paced world of information. A detailed explanation about case report,naadi,suvai& aadharam was delivered.A practical session was held for the students in diagnosing Naadi & its types .Students explored their knowledge about naadi & other diagnostic methods in Siddha System of Medicine.<\/p>\n

To take a step ahead in nurturing naturally & encouraging breast feeding a seminar was conducted in presence of our Principal Dr.M.Maignanamoorthy, MD(S) & faculties.<\/p>\n

The seminar highlighted the huge benefits that breastfeeding can bring to the health and welfare of babies and benefits to maternal health, focusing on good nutrition, and food security.<\/p>\n

Our final year students N.Dhilsharaja & M.Gokila elaborated the benefits, composition and siddha formulations to increase breast milk secretion & latching techniques.<\/p>\n

The seminar created awareness about unhealthy habits needed to be changed for the prevention of the deadly\u00a0 disease.<\/p>\n
