[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][tm_spacer size=”lg:30″][vc_column_text el_class=”content_sec”]The Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Excel Engineering College, Komarapalayam is established in the academic year of 2007-08 with a yearly intake of 60.The intake of the department has been increased to 120 per year from the year 2013 onwards. Also PG Course M.E Aeronautical Engineering is introduced in the academic year of 2012-13 with yearly intake of 18.<\/p>\n

The department is designed to be relevant to the industry and the needs of today\u2019s engineers. Teaching is underpinned by\u00a0up-to-date laboratory and computing facilities. We have facilities for conducting experiments to compliment the theory taught in lectures. The laboratories are equipped with modern\u00a0equipment\u00a0under the supervision of qualified technical support staff. \nTeaching Experience\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 : 25 Years[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”hodmsg_content”]The history of aeronautical engineering\u00a0began at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1896\u00a0when Albert J. Wells, class of 1896 (mechanical engineering), designed and built a small wind tunnel as part of his thesis. To achieve the mission of lifting and maintaining flight, aeronautics includes several disciplines on which it relies. Examples of these disciplines are aerodynamics, aircraft design, Navigation of planes, rocketry, and meteorology, among others.<\/p>\n

Aeronautics is the discipline dedicated to the study, design, and manufacturing of mechanical devices that can be lifted in flight, as well as the set of techniques that allow aircraft control. Examples of these devices are airplanes, jet fighters, helicopters, drones, and spaceships, among others<\/p>\n

The Department of\u00a0Aeronautical Engineering\u00a0in our Institution is equipped with the best of resources to enrich the heritage of the department ensuring high quality education to the students.\u00a0 Our dedicated staff work and learn together in collegiate teams to maximize student’s potential by implementing highly effective teaching strategies and student support systems.<\/p>\n

As a Head of the Department my role is to implement Outcome-based education (OBE) which shifts the focus from teaching to\u00a0learning, by making explicit the knowledge, skills and attitudes that students are expected to learn and be able to demonstrate upon completing a programme or course.
