About the Department

B.Tech. Textile Technology course is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. This course caters to the need of technicians inside the Spinning, Weaving, Garment production & Decentralized power Loom Sectors & to the different related establishments & Industries.

The Textile Technology gives the students brilliant expertise in textiles as in line with the curriculum with the aid of powerful teaching strategies, the usage of practical lessons and expertise beyond the syllabus by means of imparting reality-oriented education in industries and organizing common industrial visits for the scholars. This enables the scholars to acquire ultra-modern expertise in textiles and industry ecosystem affecting the public at large.

India’s textiles sector is one of the oldest industries in Indian economic system dating back to numerous centuries. Even nowadays, fabric zone is certainly one of the biggest individual contributor to India’s exports with about 13% of the total exports. The textile enterprise is likewise labour extensive with the largest employers’ database.

Our institution is located in Namakkal District and it is juxtaposed by Textile-oriented Districts like Erode, Tirupur and Karur. The strategic location of our institution is that it is located within the midst of textile industries. The close by Karur District is identified as a metropolis of Export Excellence within the discipline of domestic Textiles. Tirupur district is the hub of all of the accomplishments in a long way as far as the textile industry is concerned. To tap these bounty of potentials within the textile enterprise, our Engineering College wished to introduce the branch of Textile Engineering.
