About the Battalion
NCC’s training syllabus of ARMY, NAVY & AIRFORCE has been evolved to an integrated program based on the semester system. The scope of basic drill and weapon training has been proportionally reduced to make room for programs on leadership, motivation & youth management. The highlight has been the incorporation of the adventure training, youth activities and social services. Our College has created a space for boy cadets to undergo such training and enable them to blossom in the true sense towards all-around development of their personality.

Mission
The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a team of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose.

The National Cadet Corps Unit-1of Excel College for Commerce and Science was started in the year 2020-21, with an aim to inculcate discipline and patriotism among the students.
Both the boys unit and girls unit are performing well. Mr.B.Balasaravanan, Assistant Professor, Department of English, is the NCC Officer of the Senior-Wing.
